Drive through the countryside
|
Driving for a good part of the morning today after seeing an apartment for sale in Vijer. The apartment was cute, but small two bed, two bath with a large rooftop patio. I don't think we are ready to jump just yet, but it's fun to think about having a get-away place in a foreign country that we like and a town we like.

We stopped for lunch at another small hilltop town called Carares apparently named for Ceasar who spent some time there. It's very steep but a cute little town just 20 minutes from Marbella.

We are in the town of Marbella a coastal town just outside the larger city of Malaga on the South coast of Spain facing Africa. Gilbratar is the well known town on the South coast and about 30 miles to the West. Marbella is where Bridegt's Mom used to vacation from the wet Ireland days and holds a fond memory for her. Quite a few English and Irish ex-pats are here either on holiday or retired. Lots of shopping and quaint narrow streets in the old town with cobblestone streets. The beach and boardwalk here are quite nice too and lots of apartments and condos around the coast for vacationers and retirees.

Bridget and I love to go out for Tapas in Spain. Small bites that you make dinner of in Tapas bars. One of the more famous ones is Casa Curro where a very gruff older woman serving and an older guy behind the bar contsantly yell and fight with each other. It's kind of entertainment while enjoying your glass of Rose and Tapas. Well, we were disappointed to find that the older man behind the bar was home "resting" for the week, but nothing would stop the older gruff woman for yelling out orders to the two younger guys behind the bar...

We will spend the day today as well in Marbella and then tomorrow, off to Copenhagen where we will meet Gavin Ivester and Martha for dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant called the Samuel.
https://www.thesamuel.dk/
I've known Gavin since my Apple days in the 1990's. He is a really talented ID guy who worked at many well known companies such as Gibson and Bang & Olufsen. Martha did marketing for Nike where they met back in the day. She is fun and OMG hang on when you are with her. Imagine a woman version of me and multiply by X....We got together with them two years ago and had a fabulous evening.
Talk soon...
