Here comes the Sun...

Welcome to short nights and long days. The Sun rises at 4:30am and sets around 10:30pm.

We had a very relaxing two days at Marilynlist Spa resort about an hour North of Copenhagen. It's a large beach resort we stayed at a year ago when we were here. You get up in the morning and take a soak in one of the heated pools and just soak watching the beach below as the ships move through the channel between Denmark and Sweden a mile across. For the brave or stupid, you sit in the Sauna until you are well cooked and then outside, they have ice-cold buckets of water that dump on you.

We are truly now officially on vacation and no longer being tourists. We walk slower (one of us), breathe slower, give way to time, cycle on hotel bikes when it suits and then go back to the spa for additional soaking.

It turns out that they were filming a scene of one of Bridget's favorite TV Danish crime series at the hotel. Bridget was beside herself with seeing the stars of the show even through she had to sneak around corners to see the action!

We took the train back to Copenhagen for lunch to make our way to the airport for Dublin. Who knew you could use Apple Pay to pay for the ~$1 to use the bathroom in the train station?

I stumbled into a museum while walking around and asked what kind of material was being displayed inside. Turns out it was street art and graffiti. They had dozens of Banksy original pieces there, so I was excited to go in and see for myself. They also had Tramp art and hobo symbols they put on buildings from the 1950's that used to steer hobo travelers away from danger and to safe areas.

The airport is crowded and reducing some of our Marienlyst bliss. I suppose that's the way, it doesn't last, but we can go for a visit in our minds.

Off to the Emerald Isle and Bridget's family and friends in Abbyknocmoy just outside of Galway.
