Bridget's "Special" Friend

Bridget and I hiked up to this small town on the hillside high above Amalfi called Ravello founded in the 5th century. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ravello

It's not that long, just a few miles; but you climb about 1,00ft altitude in those few miles on old historic stairs and paths.

Ravello is terraced farms of lemon tress and gardens and is somewhat historic in that many famous people have gone here get away from more well known places. David Lawerence autor of Lady Chatterley and her lover, St Francis of Assisi, Jackie Kennedy, Truman Capote and many and others rested here. Jackie K was served lunch by none other than Mama Agata, the mother of the woman we took the cooking class two years ago there.

Lot's of tourists today as the the ferries were out of service due to rain and stormy oceans, so people piled into busses to local places. We had a nice lunch at a small place a bit away from the main square.

After walking around a bit, tired and wanting to get back; we waited at the bus stop with a crowd of maybe 50 people or more to catch the 2:30pm bus back. About 14 of us didn't make it as the driver refused any more riders, so some Aussies talked a taxi van driver with room for 8 to take us all down to Amalfi for 10E each. Bridget and I sat in the front seat and the driver was Very Happy to talk to Bridget for about 20 minutes about everything under the sun and shade. How windy the road was and how some sections you had to wait as busses took up the whole lane, the local store and how people shopped there, the weather, and...you get the idea! Bridget kept looking over at me rolling her eyes, are we there yet?

Tomorrow is a "chill" day with Bridget going for a hike in the hills and I'm going to Minori for a Spa day ;-)
